FantasyPros vs RotoWire

FantasyPros and RotoWire both sell one subscription that covers season-long leagues and DFS. FantasyPros is built on expert consensus rankings and keeps its DFS optimizer in its top HOF plan, for NFL, MLB and NBA. RotoWire has covered fantasy news since 1997; its DFS Pass costs more but has optimizer pages for eight sports and adds pick'em tools.

Which one fits you

FantasyPros

  • Pick FantasyPros if you play DFS in NFL, NBA or MLB and want the lower price: HOF is $8.99 a month billed annually, or $22.99 month to month.
  • Pick FantasyPros if season-long leagues come first and you want consensus rankings with league sync on hosts like Sleeper, ESPN, Yahoo and Fantrax.
  • Pick FantasyPros if you run a lot of leagues: HOF covers up to 50 leagues per sport.

RotoWire

  • Pick RotoWire if you play DFS beyond NFL, NBA and MLB: it also has optimizer pages for NHL, WNBA, golf, MMA and soccer.
  • Pick RotoWire if you also play pick'em: the DFS Pass includes a Picks & Props tool that supports PrizePicks, Underdog, DraftKings Pick6 and Sleeper.
  • Pick RotoWire if you want projected ownership and a contest simulator for DraftKings NFL slates. FantasyPros' plan page lists neither.

DFS tools

FantasyPros' HOF plan lists four DFS tools: a lineup optimizer, daily projections, lineup export and an ROI analyzer, for DraftKings, FanDuel and Yahoo. Its optimizer builds up to 150 lineups at a time, with exposure limits and your own projections. RotoWire's DFS Pass also lists an optimizer for DraftKings, FanDuel and Yahoo that builds up to 150 lineups, plus a DFS performance tracker. RotoWire adds DraftKings NFL projected ownership and an NFL contest simulator that ranks lineups by win probability.

Sports covered

FantasyPros says every plan covers NFL, MLB and NBA, and it has optimizer pages for those three. RotoWire has optimizer pages for eight sports: NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, WNBA, golf, MMA and soccer. RotoWire says every tier includes tools across all sports. If you play NHL, golf or MMA DFS, only RotoWire of these two has an optimizer for it.

Price and trials

FantasyPros HOF costs $8.99 a month billed annually, $11.99 a month billed every six months, or $22.99 month to month. RotoWire's DFS Pass is $49.99 a month or $299.88 a year. FantasyPros gives new customers a 3-day free trial, and RotoWire advertises a free trial. RotoWire also says its NFL optimizer is free to use, so you can try that part without paying.

Season-long leagues

FantasyPros' season-long plans start at $3.99 a month billed annually for PRO, which covers 2 leagues per sport. MVP ($5.99 a month billed annually) adds a draft assistant with live sync and 10 leagues, and HOF raises the limit to 50. It syncs with Sleeper, ESPN, CBS, Yahoo, MyFantasyLeague, Fleaflicker, FFPC, Fantrax and others. RotoWire's season-long Fantasy Pass is $95.88 a year with draft software, custom rankings and My Leagues integration, and the DFS Pass includes all of it.
