PrizePicks vs Underdog

PrizePicks and Underdog both have you call More or Less (Underdog says Higher or Lower) on player stats, and both now sell team picks as event contracts. The split is format: every PrizePicks Player Picks lineup is grouped against other players' lineups, while Underdog runs a Classic Pick'em next to its peer-to-peer Pick'em Champions and best-ball drafts.

Which one fits you

PrizePicks

  • Pick PrizePicks if you're in Massachusetts: Underdog gave up its fantasy license there in September 2026, and PrizePicks still offers Player Picks to players 21 and over.
  • Pick PrizePicks if you want published standard payouts: a Power Play pays 3x for 2 picks up to 37.5x for 6.
  • Pick PrizePicks if you're new and want to face other beginners: Rookies, with 50 or fewer contests, always play together.

Underdog

  • Pick Underdog if you want entries of up to 8 picks; PrizePicks stops at 6.
  • Pick Underdog if you also draft best ball: its tournaments run from $3 to $1,000 per entry, and PrizePicks sells only Player, Team and Culture Picks.
  • Pick Underdog if you're in Canada: its fantasy terms accept Canadian residents, and PrizePicks' fantasy game is US-only since it left Canada on April 3, 2026.

How you win

Every PrizePicks Player Picks lineup joins a group of entries with the same number of picks: 315 for 2- and 3-pick lineups, up to 940 for 6 picks. A winning lineup earns the Minimum Guarantee, and outscoring your group earns the Max Payout. Underdog runs two versions: Classic Pick'em, where the entry page shows your Standard or Flexed payout before you play, and Pick'em Champions, a peer-to-peer contest where payouts follow your entry's Champions Points.

Picks and payouts

PrizePicks lineups take 2 to 6 picks. Its standard Power Play pays 3x for 2 correct, 6x for 3, 10x for 4, 20x for 5 and 37.5x for 6, and Demon picks can push a lineup as high as 2000x. Underdog takes up to 8 picks and advertises wins of up to 500x in Pick'em. Both start at $1 and offer Flex, which pays less but can survive a miss or two.

Other games

Underdog also runs best-ball drafts with tournament entries from $3 to $1,000, plus Streaks and Team Picks on moneylines, spreads and totals from $1 to $2,000. PrizePicks sells Player, Team and Culture Picks. Its Team and Culture Picks are event contracts priced between $0.00 and $1.00, with a service fee of $0.005 to $0.02 per contract when you buy or sell.

Where you can play

As of October 2026, PrizePicks offers Player Picks in 36 states plus DC, including New York and Massachusetts. In September 2026 Underdog gave up its fantasy licenses in Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, New Jersey, Ohio and Pennsylvania after regulators said its prediction markets were incompatible with them; PrizePicks has no Player Picks in the other six either. Underdog's fantasy terms accept Canadian residents; PrizePicks left Canada on April 3, 2026.

Age

Both start at 18 in most states. PrizePicks requires 19 in Alabama and Colorado and 21 in Arizona, Illinois, Massachusetts and Virginia. Underdog's homepage lists 19 in Alabama and Nebraska (19 in Colorado for some games) and 21 in Arizona and Virginia.
